Black Eye

Hunter was recently pushing around a dump truck. He pushed the back of it down and the front came up and hit him in the face...so he got his first black eye! He's much better now...and more careful while playing with his trucks!

Christmas Lights

Me and Hunter, and Amanda and Layla went to see the "Holiday Lights On The River" at Saluda Shoals Park, which is the midlands largest drive through lights show. It featured over 400 animated light displays on a two mile loop of the park. We were instructed to turn off our headlights, but leave on the parking lights while driving in the park, and to turn our radio station to a specific station to enjoy Christmas music. Hunter and Amanda loved being able to be out of their car seats and look out the window at all of the beautiful lights. We all enjoyed ourselves and plan to make the visit a yearly tradition.

Birthday Party

I can't believe that Hunter will be 2 years old on December 11th! I didn't have him a birthday party last year, so I've decided to have one this year. I'm doing a clown theme...with a real clown that will do a magic show, face painting, and balloon art. I also have a bounce house for the kids to enjoy. I'm so excited about the party and hope everyone has a great time!

Zoo Fun

Me and Hunter, and Jill and James enjoyed a cool morning at the zoo last Saturday. Hunter loved the zoo trip...afterall, he got to hang out with his friend, walk around independently and look at animals and make animal sounds, ride the carousel and train, watch a 3D movie, and feed the giraffes. It just doesn't get much better than that!

Cedar Chest

When I was getting my mama's Christmas decorations out of her storage shed a few weeks ago, I came across a cedar chest that I used when I was a child. I quickly removed all of the boxes stacked up on top of it and took it out, as I thought it would be perfect to put Hunter's toys in. My mama told me that the chest was actually hers when she was a little girl, and that it was from back in 1947. She said that the chest was what her parents used to keep her clothes in. I cleaned it up with furniture polish and put it at the end of Hunter's bed. He sits on it and watches his TV, and stores all of his stuffed animals in it. Hunter loves his new, yet old cedar chest!

Christmas Card

Hunter had his birthday and Christmas pictures made last weekend in NC while we were there for my nieces birthday. The photographer had them ready for viewing online the next day and I eagerly picked out my favorite picture for our Christmas cards. I've placed my order and they'll be arriving in the mail soon!

From Me To You Award

Andrea from Arise To Write kindly awarded all of her blog friends the From Me To You Award. Thanks Andrea! It came with rules to state 7 things others don't know about you and to pass the award along to 7 people, but I plan to pass the award on to all of my blog friends. Feel free to accept the award if you follow me.

1. I have a variety of friends from all walks of life.

2. I'd be lost without my personal calendar.

3. My cats sleep in the bed with me every night.

4. I supervise a team of 9 people at work.

5. I'm very independent.

6. I love sending greeting cards to my family and friends.

7. I hate to talk on the phone.

Suckers

It all started when Hunter was sick with the swine flu. Then again at Halloween. Now, it's all the time...that he wants a sucker! He wants one for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and even in between. Hunter has even woke up in the middle of the night saying sucker! I admit, I give in and give him one after I have heard the word sucker about 10 times. I had given him a sucker after dinner and bath time last week and didn't put the sucker bowl back in the cabinet like I should have. A few minutes later, I found Hunter with the bowl of suckers sitting in the living room floor! I do make sure that he eats good before having one and I keep his teeth brushed, so how bad can they be? I looked up the nutrition information online and I found that each dum dum sucker has only 10 calories, 5 grams of sugar, and no fat...so I guess they aren't that bad afterall?!

Bubbles

Hunter loves bath time, so I recently bought him some bubble bath to make it even more fun! He now says bubbles and makes sure that I pour some into his running water every night! I loved bubbles and colored water when I was a child. My mama would put a few drops of food coloring in my bath water and it made bath time so much fun! I haven't used any with Hunter yet, but I will soon!

How To Really Love A Child

handprints Pictures, Images and Photos

Be there. Say yes as often as possible. Let them bang on pots and pans. If they're crabby, put them in water. If they're unlovable, love yourself. Realize how important it is to be a child. Go to a movie theatre in your pajamas. Read books out loud with joy. Invent pleasures together. Remember how really small they are. Giggle alot. Surprise them. Say no when necessary. Teach feelings. Heal your own inner child. Learn about parenting. Hug trees together. Make loving safe. Bake a cake and eat it with no hands. Go find elephants and kiss them. Plan to build a rocketship. Imagine yourself magic. Make lots of forts with blankets. Let your angel fly. Reveal your own dreams. Search out the positive. Keep the gleam in your eye. Mail letters to God. Encourage silly. Plant licorice in your garden. Open up. Stop yelling. Express your love alot. Speak kindly. Paint their tennis shoes. Handle with caring.

Honest Scrap Award

I was kindly awarded the Honest Scrap Award from Beth at I Am Heading Towards My Destiny. I've received this award before, but I don't mind coming up with 10 more honest things about me! The Honest Scrap Award is given to those whose blogs you find brilliant in content and/or design, or those who have encouraged you. Thanks Beth!

It does come with a few rules and the rules are as follows:

* You must thank the person who gave the award and list their blog and link it.
* You must share 10 honest things about yourself.
* You have to present this award to 7 others whose blogs you find brilliant in content and/or design, or those who have encouraged you.
* You must tell those 7 people they've been awarded honest scrap and inform them of these guidelines in receiving the award.

1.) I love ketchup and eat it on almost everything...from scrambled eggs to steak.
2.) I used to have a motorcycle permit for fun. I never drove on the main roads, but I did drive my boyfriends motorcycle around the neighborhood.
3.) I wore acrylic nails for 15 years. I made up my mind about 3 months ago to get rid of them...and so far, so good.
4.) Hunter's father and I have joint custody and equal visitation. We work well together for the best of Hunter.
5.) I sleep with 3 regular pillows and a body pillow.
6.) I can't wear perfume or scented lotion because they give me a headache.
7.) I was a cheerleader for 6 years in middle school and high school...and I don't understand football!
8.) I was an average student in high school, but graduated with honors from college.
9.) I've never flew in a big airplane...only a 2 seater.
10.) I let Hunter sleep in the bed with me sometimes. I figure that I should enjoy it while I can.

I'm going to break the rules a little. Instead of picking 7 people to pass the Honest Scrap Award to, I'm awarding it to all of my blog friends who follow me. I follow all of my followers blogs, and I find them all brilliant in content and/or design, and they have all encouraged me in some way. Thanks for being such great friends!
